Lake Bridgeport spans nearly three miles wide at its main section and sits just one hour from DFW Airport. It’s only 40 miles from Fort Worth, Denton, and Texas Motor Speedway, and about 70–75 miles from Dallas and Wichita Falls. The lake is located on the West Fork of the Trinity River in Jack and Wise counties, just off US Highway 380 near the town of Bridgeport.

Local favorites include Bridgeport, Decatur, Chico, Paradise, Vineyard, Willow Point, Wizard Wells, and Balsora. Anglers will find excellent fishing for white bass, hybrid striped bass, and crappie, with good chances to land largemouth and smallmouth bass, catfish, and sunfish, according to Texas Parks and Wildlife.
